Blazers never go out of style

Posted In: Outfit

Happy Holidays loves, I can’t believe Christmas is on Tuesday. Where did the time go? Per usual my ass is not prepared and I have to run out this weekend all last minute for gifts. (Panic sinks in) Somehow I always make it work.

I love a good blazer and the fact that this one is corduroy is even better. Tis the season for corduroy and staple pieces such as a blazer. To me blazers have always been on trend, but this season they made an even bigger comeback. The tried and true wardrobe staple is the key to professional power dressing in my eyes. We saw oversized checked and plaid blazers dominant the runways last fall. Since then the blazer has only evolved to more patterns, textures, colors and fits. I’m here for it all!!!

Fashion girls and designers are playing with color a lot more lately, and that very much includes the blazer. As we move into spring, a fresh palette of refreshing blues, pretty pinks, and eclectic patterns awaits. For now rich fabrics like velvet and corduroy bring the jacket up a notch. Add a belt to create a waist or try pairing the blazer with matching trousers for a fresh take on the modern suit. Which is something I love to do a lot. This ASOS blazer does have matching trousers as well, but this time I didn’t get the matching set.

Corset-inspired shaping, extra-strong shoulders, and asymmetrical tailoring are all blazer styles you’ll start to see popping up in the coming months (if you haven’t already). Of course I indulged and now own a couple. This also applies to the trench and winter coats.

Living in California I don’t get to layer much or even rock my heavier coats. Sometimes they just sit in my closet for me to stare at, but being a blogger I just have to fake it for the photos.. even when it’s a nice 75 degrees in Winter.

I’ve linked my blazer and couple other favorites at the moment below. If you haven’t already purchased a blazer this season, I suggest you do. It’s a true staple piece for any fashionista and I don’t think this trend will go away.

Enjoy XX
