Vintage inspired everything!
Vintage style pants, jackets, skirts, dresses, tops, shoes, silhouettes, prints and so on. Fashion has fallen in love with its own past. The catwalks this season have been full of nods to retro style, whether that’s the sixties, seventies, or eighties. I’m in love with all three decades plus the 90’s as far as the fashion style, trends and looks go.
Increasingly, high-end brands are embracing classic silhouettes, prints and designs so timeless that it would be hard to pick out whats vintage and whats brand-new. It’s a change that has been developing for a while now, one-piece swimsuits have become popular again, as have longer hemlines and sleeves. Personally, I couldn’t be happier for this classic style, if this is what it means to dress like an adult woman, I like it 🙂
Florals are generally associated with spring and summer, but a floral story isn’t exclusive to just the spring and summer anymore. This year’s fall fashion lineup keeps them going into fall with the help of the runways who were more than happy to comply with moodier versions of garden prints. Serving us non stop retro looks and now vintage floral prints are everywhere from casual tops to princess gowns.
Just as the fashion world seems to be rediscovering the joys of its past, I’ve been doing the same thing. I’ve literally dipped my toes in ever era and style this fall/winter and I can’t get enough. I’ve become a bit obsessed with vintage style everything from fashion, home decor and accessories. I just recently purchased an old vintage style camera and rotary phone from the 50’s as a prop for shoots and home decor. I’ve always been into Hollywood Glamour ( Hollywood Regency Era) so my home reflects touches of that era. Interior post coming soon…
