Yes, yes and more yes to Burgundy!
Oxblood, maroon, redish purple, call it whatever you want, but the dark, sultry shade that ruled all the runways from the first show of the week to the last, was Burgundy (Fall 2017). Rich, deep, and regal, the shade is now taking the streets and racks by storm in many forms. What streetstyle I personally saw at NYFW SS18 in September and that I personally LOVE is the mix of our favorite wine color with periwinkle and/or red. Very bold, but I’m into it. (In my head: I’m gonna try this look very very soon.)
I’ve been a big fan of the deep pour of burgundy for many fall seasons now and this season burgundy pieces come in all shapes & sizes. From Blazers to booties, luxe leather jackets and cozy sweaters to buttoned-up blouses. Side-striped luxe track pants to turtlenecks, wide-legged trousers to skirts and dresses. You name it, its out there in these streets.
I went with a boxy Blazer from Zara , the It trend that I will be discussing more of in an upcoming post. Incase you didn’t know, oversized menswear blazers are all the rave. Its all about broad shoulder ladies, you’re not borrowing from the boys this season, but from the men. (More on that very soon). I paired this blazer with BLANKNYC Faux Leather Moto Skirt and sexy lace bodysuit from Style Delivers. I’m trying to transition into Fall, but LA keeps hitting us with the heat. I can’t wait for knits, shearlings, and more oversized blazers, but until then I will have to fake it till I make it (wearing fall clothing) with this LA heat!
You can shop this look and similar blazers below. Stay tuned for my NYFW Recap Part 2 and Blazer trend post.
